Inter Milan are closing in on signing Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen according to reports. The Denmark midfielder has been linked with moves away from the club since last summer after failing to agree a new deal.
Eriksen has endured a below-par season with the player no longer a regular in the first team. It had been speculated that the 27-year-old favoured a move to Real Madrid or Juventus.
However, Inter Milan have emerged as the latest destination for the playmaker as manager Antonio Conte is keen on his signing. Conte believes that Eriksen is the last cog in the midfield and would bring creativity and stardust to a depleted midfield.
It is understood that the deal is likely to be completed by Monday with the Italian club shelling out around £16.9million for his signature. His departure is going to be a major blow for Spurs as Eriksen has provided over 100 assists since joining from Ajax.
Inter Milan will be gaining one of the top class midfielders in Europe for a cut-price fee and can intensify their challenge to dislodge Juventus from the top of the summit in Italy.
