Manchester United have added Bayer Leverkusen ace, Leon Bailey, to list of players on their transfer wish list. According to the Daily Mail, the English giants have identified the pacy winger as an alternative to current first-choice option Jadon Sancho.
It is understood that United are reconsidering their pursuit of Sancho due to the demands from Borussia Dortmund. The German side have placed an asking price of £115 million on the winger which is seen as excessive by United.
This valuation has seen the club turn to Bailey as a cheaper option and talks could begin as soon as next week. Bailey is considered as one of the best young wingers in the German League and has excelled at Leverkusen.
It is understood that Leverkusen value the winger for £40million and could be willing to sell in the summer. United are also thought to be mulling a transfer for Italian stars Federico Chiesa and Federico Bernadeschi as potential alternatives.
The Red Devils are expected to spend heavily in the summer and Bailey would represent a good deal for the club. The 22-year-old has so far scored 24 goals in 110 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.
