English Premier League side Arsenal are reportedly in Advanced talks to sign former Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti. The North London side had been in the market for a new manager after sacking Unai Emery a fortnight ago following a poor spell of results.
Ancelotti who at that time was still the manager of Napoli had not been considered as a frontrunner for the job. But the surprise sacking of the Italian tactician after guiding the club to the knockout stages of the Champions League has presented the Gunners with an opportunity.
It is understood that Arsenal have offered the former Chelsea manager a two year contract and are discussing financial terms. According to club insiders, the negotiations have progressed smoothly and both parties are expected to reach an agreement before the weekend.
If all goes well, Ancelotti could be named as the new manager before the Gunners play Manchester City on Sunday and could be in the stands watching the game.
It is also thought that Everton have also approached the Italian with the Merseyside club seeking a high profile coach following the sack of Marco Silva. From the looks of things, it is highly likely that the highly decorated manager ends up in England very soon.
