Inter Milan are reportedly interested in a move for Chelsea wingback Marcos Alonso according to reports from Italy. La Gazzetta dello Sport, claims that former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on reuniting with the player that he signed for the Blues.
Alonso has fallen out of favour in recent weeks with manager Frank Lampard not including him in the last five matchday squads. It is understood that Lampard does not have enough trust for the player due to his lack of defensive discipline.
Alonso fits the playing style of Antonio Conte who favours the 3-5-2 formation at Inter Milan which has seen the Nerazzurri climb to the summit in Italy. Chelsea are said to be opened to selling the player in January particularly after the transfer ban was lifted in the past week.
Chelsea currently have captain Cesar Azpilicueta and Emerson Palmieri capable of filling in on the left and Alonso could be surplus to requirements.
Alonso has been a good performer for the Blues and excelled during the stint of Conte winning the Premier League title three seasons ago. A move to Italy could be what the Spaniard needs to revive his career and at just 28 years still has some years left at the top of his game.
