Tottenham could miss out on the signing of PSG fullback Thomas Meunier according to reports from France. French tabloid RTBF claims that German side Borussia Dortmund has won the race to sign the Belgium international.
Meunier is set to be available on a free transfer after PSG failed to renew his contract this season. Tottenham had been linked with a move for the defender as they look to strengthen ahead of next season.
Spurs are short of cash and are resorting to cheap deals to bolster their squad with Meunier identified as an ideal target. The marauding fullback is regarded as a decent option that can strengthen the defence without the club breaking the bank.
Dortmund appear to have won the race as they look to replace Hakimi who is expected to return to Real Madrid at the end of his two-year loan deal this summer. This transfer is not yet confirmed and there could be twists in the coming days.
Meunier could remain at the Paris side as they look to compete in the Champions League in July but would have to sign a short term clause since his current deal ends in June.
