Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud. Reports from England claims that the North London outfit are currently locked in talks with the Blues regarding a deal.
Giroud was widely expected to leave Chelsea in January but the club are reluctant to sell without a replacement. Italian side Inter Milan thought they had agreed a deal for the forward only for Chelsea to renege on the transfer.
Giroud is thought to be keen for first-team football ahead of the Euros in the summer. Tottenham view Giroud as a short term replacement for star striker Harry Kane, who is currently sidelined.
Spurs had earlier been linked with a move for Roma ace Edin Dzeko but the Italian side were unwilling to lose their talismanic striker. Giroud is currently third on the pecking order at Chelsea behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi.
The Frenchman is an experienced forward and is excellent with his back to goal. This are the sort of attributes that Jose Mourinho loves in a striker and Giroud would be a good fit for Spurs.
Spurs have indicated that they will offer an 18 month deal for the veteran forward. With the transfer window deadline less than 24 hours away time is running out for Tottenham to complete the deal.
