Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that leaving Spurs was very difficult after a five and half year spell, and he was highly disappointed on how it all ended in North London. He also stated that he is professional enough to take the decision of the board, and he accepted that it is how things work in the world of football.
Pochettino was sacked in the early weeks of November, after a dismal start to the season, that left Spurs in 14th place in the table. He led Spurs to the pinnacle of European football, where they lost to Liverpool.
Pochettino was speaking to Associated press and he stated that he fully understood the decision of the board to fire him. He also stated that football is a result-oriented business, and what happens in the past does not count.
Since his departure from North London, Pochettino has been attracting suitors from top clubs around Europe. He has been linked with every top vacancy including the recently occupied post at the Emirate Stadium.
He stated that he will not rush into any job and would most likely wait till the summer before making his next managerial move.
Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid among other clubs have been linked with the former Southampton boss.
