Tottenham are reportedly interested in Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud according to reports from England. The veteran forward only signed a new deal last month but could be on the move following Chelsea swoop for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The Daily Express claims that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is pushing for a transfer for the player as a backup option for star forward Harry Kane.
There were reports in January that Spurs had made a move for the player in January alongside Italian side Inter Milan. Giroud confirmed the rumours then stating that he remained at Chelsea after talks with manager Frank Lampard.
However, it is thought that it is unlikely for the French international to remain at the club next season. This transfer is one that is unlikely to happen because Tottenham is a direct rival.
Furthermore, Chelsea value the forward for around £7m after his contract extension and Tottenham may be unlikely to pay much for a player that would turn 34 next season.
