Lille boss Christophe Galtier has admitted that the club could lose star forward Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window. Osimhen has been impressive for the French side since moving from Belgium side Genk in the summer netting virtually every week for the club.
It is understood that several Premier League clubs are interested in the player with Newcastle chief scout Steve Nickson spotted watching the player a few weeks ago. London side Tottenham are also linked with a move for the striker with the club looking for a backup forward for Harry Kane.
Speaking to Journalists after Lille’s defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League Galtier admitted that it is highly likely that he remains with the club. However, Galtier added that nothing is certain as rumour of a January exit heightens.
Osimhen is a quality forward with his all-round game very impressive, the 21-year-old possesses pace, strength and most crucially aerial ability which is important to succeed in the EPL.
It would be interesting to see if a move eventually materializes for the Nigerian forward we move closer to the January transfer window.
Osimhen has scored 11 goals for Lille this season and created three assists in all competitions and has become a fans favourite at the club.
