Bayern Munich will consider selling fullback David Alaba this summer according to reports from Germany. The Austria star has one year left on his current deal at the Allianz Arena and is yet to accept a new deal.
The Telegraph says that Bayern are considering selling the defender rather than lose him for free next season. The long-serving defender is considered one of the best in Europe and his versatility has seen him deployed in different positions.
Alaba has been an important piece for Bayern Munich in their successful pursuit of the German League filling in the centre-back position in recent months.
English sides Manchester City and Chelsea are said to be interested in his services with the EPL champions seen as a potential destination. Alaba worked with Pep Guardiola during his time in Germany and the Spanish tactician utilized him to the best of his abilities.
At 27 years this could be the right time for a new challenge as he is just entering peak and would help improve Manchester City. Alaba has been with Bayern since 2008, making over 350 appearances over that time.
