Chelsea have reportedly ramped up interest in Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake. The Guardian claims that the Blues are weighing up move for the 25-year-old as they look to back manager Frank Lampard in the summer.
The London club have been busy in the transfer window with the arrival of Hakim Ziyech already confirmed from Ajax. This is in addition to recent news that a transfer has been agreed with RB Leipzig for the signature of forward Timo Werner.
Ake came through the Blues academy ranks before joining Bournemouth in 2017. The Dutch international is regarded as one of the best young defenders in the League and a move back to Chelsea could be the right move for his career.
He was linked with a move to Leicester last summer but Bournemouth slapped a £50 million fee which proved to be too much for the Foxes.
Chelsea could sign the player on a cheap if Bournemouth are relegated from the Premier League. It is also thought that the Blues have a buy-back option of around £40m.
This transfer is one that would continue to make the rounds with Manchester United and Leicester set to be monitoring his current situation.
