Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is reportedly a transfer target for Newcastle according to reports from England. The Daily Star claims that the Spaniard has been identified as one of the first signings for the new ownership at the club.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has agreed to sell the club to PCP Capital Partners an investment firm backed by the Saudi Arabian crown prince.
Alonso could be the first signing for the club under the new management with reports claiming that talks have begun with his representatives. Alonso is familiar with Tyneside having spent half a season on loan at bitter rivals Sunderland.
The fullback has three years left on his existing deal but has been in and out of the team all season. The potential arrival of Leicester defender Ben Chilwell could mean that he has to leave the club for regular playing time and St James Park could be the ideal destination for the fullback.
