Arsenal have made an approach for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey. The sturdy midfielder has been in the news in recent weeks following statements from his Dad that he should seek a new challenge in England.
Goal claims that Arsenal are willing to triple Partey’s salary if he quits the Madrid outfit in the summer. Partey is believed to have a release clause of £45million which appeals to the Gunners as they look to strengthen in the summer.
Partey is a unique player as he has the ability to play different roles in the midfield. He has been exceptional this campaign with his keen eye for tackle and passing skills setting him apart at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Arsenal view Partey as someone they can build with and boss Arteta is excited with the prospect of the Ghanaian as his holding midfielder for next season. Partey earns £65,000 a week at the Wanda Metropolitano and Arsenal would be committing close to £200,000 a week if they were to triple that pay-packet
This transfer appears to be the real deal as news continues to filter in on how the London club are closing in on completing a deal with Atletico for the highly-rated midfielder.
