London club Arsenal are reportedly interested in FC Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira according to reports from Europe. Pereira is considered as one of the top performers in the Portuguese league and has been linked with a number of clubs recently.
Sports tabloid ESPN claims that Arsenal are tracking the Portugal international and are keen on making a move in the summer. Danilo has a release clause of around €60 million but Porto are willing to sell for around €20 million due to the Covid-19 pandemic as the club is in need of funds.
Danilo currently earns around £48,000-a-week and this should pose no problems for the Gunners. The sturdy midfielder is known for his power and passing ability from the midfield and has been on the radar of Arsenal for a while.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is keen on strengthening the team and Danilo would be a cheaper alternative to Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey. There are reports that a bid will be submitted in the coming weeks.
