Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea fullback Marcos Alonso according to reports from Spain. Alonso has been linked with a number of clubs in the past few days and the Spanish giants are the latest to indicate interest in the defender.
It is understood that Alonso is weighing a move from England after falling out of favour with manager Frank Lampard. The 28-year-old has dropped down the pecking order at the club with the likes of Emerson and Azpilicueta preferred to him on the left side of defence.
Barcelona had previously been linked with a move for the player last summer when the club was looking for a backup option to Jordi Alba. The Spanish club will face a battle for his signature as Italian side Inter Milan have indicated interest in his signature.
Junior Firpo has yer to convince Barcelona of his suitability for a club of their stature after his big-money move from Real Betis. Alonso will have no problems adapting to Barcelona but it is unlikely that he makes a move to the Camp Nou.
Inter Milan looks like the likelier option as he will be reunited with Antonio Conte who brought the best out of him during his time in England.
